[付録1] GPT について

GPT(GUID Partition Table) はUEFI 環境下で用いられるパーティション管理方式です. GPT にはいくつかの特徴があります.

• 作成可能パーティションは128 個
• GUID(Globally Unique IDentifer) によりパーティションのタイプを識別
• MBR(Master Boot Record), GPT ヘッダ, パーティションテーブル, EFI システムパーティションで構成
• MBR はBIOS 環境下でのみ読み込まれる
• 冗長性のため, GPT ヘッダ, パーティションテーブル は2 つ用意
• GPT 内の位置情報はLBA(Logical Block Addressing) で記述

実際にどのようなパーティション設定になっているか確認してみましょう. 確認には今回はgdisk (GPT fdisk, fdisk はパーティション操作のためのコマンド, つまりGPT のためのパーティション操作コマンド)を使用します.
